What sort of leader are you?

Now don't worry, and don't get too stressed. We're not going to go all "business book" on you. Let's keep it simple, and look at some key points that we can learn from ourselves. Some key points that we can model in our own Business LifeStyle.

As we see it, there's really only three types of leaders... So let's call them:
* the Good,
* the Bad, and
* the Ugly...

The Good:
Great leaders of our time have always led by example. Great leaders lead through inspiration. And they're most definitely great role models too. A great leader will empower people to think for themselves rather than tell people what to think. A great leader creates the environment where people can assume ownership, and feel supported in their decisions. A great leader creates context and reasons for doing things. This context comes from the fact that great leaders have a clear vision... they're inspired by that vision, and they allow others to join them on that journey.

The Bad:
Mediocre leaders think it's their responsibility to "spur" people up the mountain of success... They try to motivate people to get out of bed in the morning, shower, brush their teeth, and get on out there. Mediocre leaders try and "be inspiring" rather that just being inspired by their own vision. For them it's about   "making things happen".

The Ugly:
Worse than the mediocre these leaders actually think that people are no good, and not up to the task... These are the leaders who fully intend to drag people, kicking and screaming, up that mountain of success whether they want to go or not...
